The support provided through the Women’s Entrepreneurial Fellowship has been transformative for the business owners who have gone through it. Not only have they made business changes that will help them grow, but they’ve also built a framework to get out of the reactive work of running a business and instead build the life they want to live alongside it.
We’re now expanding that work even further.
The Women’s Owners Network, which is launching this fall, is for women business owners who are past the idea stage and committed to growing their business, but need the support to take it to the next level, whatever that may be. It takes the foundation built by the Fellowship’s in-person sessions, mentorship, and community to help women build for what comes first.
A Program Built Different
The Women’s Owners Network refuses to treat women founders as students who need a classroom. These women are in the highest-risk window of business ownership, and without the right structure, mentorship, and community around them, the odds are stacked against their survival.
The methodology of this program integrates emotional and practical knowledge created by a business owner for business owners. The curriculum pairs market validation, customer acquisition, lean operations, and early-stage funding with structured support for the isolation, emotional volatility, and decision fatigue that define the early years of building a company.
Every cohort begins with individualized needs assessments driving the curriculum focus and mentor matching. Each of the six monthly sessions will cover topics on leadership, people, finance, capital access, crisis planning, and operations.
Between each of those, the owners will receive ongoing support and take part in the Learning Hub. All of the resources are meant to create a foundation where relationships are built, and they can receive full support along the way.
Your Board of Advisors
Every owner needs people in her corner. Not cheerleaders – board members. People who have been where she is, who can see what she can’t, and who will tell her the truth when it costs something. The challenge is that most early-stage owners build their inner circle by accident: whoever shows up, whoever offers, whoever happens to be nearby.
This curriculum is designed to change that, helping the cohort audit, design, and begin building her personal Board of Directors – the curated network of mentors, advisors, peers, and experts whose collective perspective provides what no single person (and no single program) ever could.
The board doesn’t need to take a formal structure, but it’s a living, evolving set of relationships that will determine whether she is still in business in five years. Every session connects directly to a board-building skill or board seat. By the time owners reach the final session, they will have built the infrastructure to help them sustain their business for the next five.
